VR play: Antigone in Molenbeek

The story of Antigone - the girl who, against the will of the authorities, still buries her politically incorrect brother - is more than twenty-five centuries old and at the same time more relevant than ever.

Starting from "Antigone in Molenbeek" - Stefan Hertmans' contemporary adaptation - theater director Guy Cassiers turns the story into an immersive experience with a VR headset. Through direct visual communication, the viewer identifies with the girl and is confronted with the misunderstandings and prejudices of a patriarchal society. For the viewer, this is not only a virtual, interactive, and intensely sensory experience but also a call for empathy that raises complex moral questions.
